ABOUT MRS. PENNELL
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 1999, I started teaching in District 23. During my teaching tenure, I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade as a classroom teacher, as well as a gifted resource teacher. While teaching, I earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University and have taken several classes in technology and differentiation. I have also earned two endorsements; English as a Second Language and Gifted Education. My favorite part of teaching is learning alongside my students and getting to know each of them individually.
I live in Palatine with my husband, two boys, Kurt and Matthew, and dog, Otis. In my "free" time, I enjoy driving to and watching my kids' activities, running, cycling, baking and traveling.
